I earned my B.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech where I worked on dynamical systems and multiphase flows. My graduate work included the investigation of fluid flow behavior in stenosed and stented coronary flow. After completing my Ph.D. I worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Georgia Tech. I am currently the Team Leader with the Coronary Interventional Devices Team reviewing class II and class III medical devices including combination products. Previously I spent 5 years as a lead review with the neurointerventional devices team where he worked on the development of both standards and guidance documents as well as was the lead review for multiple public advisory committee meeting. I am currently the convenor for TC/150 WG-15 and I am also the Committee Co-Chair for ASTM F04.30.06 “Endovascular Device Test Methods” and the Committee Chair for F04.31 “Neurosurgical Standards.”
